Call for Participants!

Autistic, Surviving and Thriving under COVID-19: Imagining Inclusive Autistic Futures

The Re•Storying Autism in Education research project is seeking autistic and neurodivergent participants for an online digital zine-making workshop and research interviews about experiences of education and COVID-19.

Workshops and interviews begin October 22nd, 2020 and will take place over 6 weeks (day and evening times are available). We welcome all levels of experience. You do not need to be a professional artist to participate. Access to artistic and technical help will be available.

Participants will be compensated $125 CAD for their participation in the zine-making workshops and $25 for research interviews.

You must be ages 16+, be interested in education and wish to express your experience through the arts. We aim to create an accessible and inclusive online space. You will have the choice of using a chosen name, turning your camera on or off and using the chat option on Zoom.

Some themes you may be exploring include:

  • Going to school under COVID 19, what works and what does not

  • Autistic parenting and COVID-19

  • BIPOC experiences, education and COVID-19

  • Fears and dreams for inclusive autistic futures

If you are interested, fill out the questionnaire at https://tinyurl.com/restoryingautismzine
